Keeping Hand Edits with WPSD_Manual=1¶
Every time you click Apply Changes on the main Configuration page, WPSD rebuilds its configuration files from the settings on that page. Any hand edits you made to those files, with the Quick/Full Editors in Admin -> Advanced or over SSH, are lost.
Profiles are still the recommended way to keep and switch between setups. For the few cases where you maintain part of a file by hand, for example an extra DMR network in DMRGateway with your own rewrite rules, you can tell the Configuration page to leave it alone.
How to use it¶
Add the line WPSD_Manual=1 to the section you want to keep:
[DMR Network 3]
WPSD_Manual=1
Enabled=1
Name=My_Network
...
From then on, Apply Changes writes that section back exactly as it is in the file, including your comments and the order of the lines. If the Configuration page would normally drop the section (for example, [DMR Network 3] when you change the cross-modes), it is put back at the end of the file. The rest of the file is still generated from the Configuration page as usual.
To hand the section back to the Configuration page, delete the WPSD_Manual=1 line and click Apply Changes.
Which files¶
MMDVMHost, DMRGateway, YSFGateway, NXDNGateway, P25Gateway, DGIdGateway, YSF2DMR, YSF2NXDN, YSF2P25, DMR2YSF, DMR2NXDN, DAPNETGateway and the modem settings file, which the Configuration page rebuilds completely: the marker works per section. Mark only the sections you maintain by hand.
ircDDBGateway, TimeServer and APRSGateway:
WPSD_Manual=1anywhere in the file keeps the whole file as it is.
Without the marker, nothing changes: the Configuration page writes the files exactly as before.
Important
A marked section or file no longer follows the Configuration page. If you later change a related setting there (a password, a frequency, a network option), update the marked section by hand as well. Save a Profile after your hand edits so you can get them back if something goes wrong.
